Sow indoors
Level fill a module tray with seed compost firming with the base of another tray. Water well with a fine rose. Sow seeds individually covering seeds with 0.5cm (¼ in) compost. Place in a propagator at 15-20°C (60-70°F) or cover the tray with cling film and leave in a warm room. Keep moist.
Grow on
When shoots appear, remove the cling film. Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. Grow on in a minimum temperature of 10?C (50?F). Gradually accustom plants to outdoor conditions before planting out.
Plant out
When seedlings have produced 4 leaves, transplant them to their cropping position leaving 25cm (10in) between plants. Firm in and keep well watered in dry spells.
