Eucalyptus ‘Baby Blue’ is a compact evergreen tree with aromatic, bright silver-blue young foliage that looks superb in flower arrangements. A relatively slow-growing eucalyptus, it can be grown in a large container and is ideal for small gardens.
Sow indoors
Sow in individual pots of pre-watered seed compost, cover with a thin layer of vermiculite and allow 2-3 weeks to germinate at around 20C (68F). Once germinated, grow on at a slightly cooler temperature.
Grow on
Pot on carefully into a larger pot (20cm / 8in) when the seedlings have around 4 true leaves and keep in a bright position.
Plant out
Plant into the final position once in early to mid-summer, in full sun and well-drained soil, where it will be hardy once established. May also be direct sown in late summer or early autumn.
