Eucalyptus Tree ‘Cider Gum’
The Cider Gum (Eucalyptus gunnii) is a versatile and striking tree, perfect for smaller or larger spaces. It boasts silvery leaves that catch the sunlight and elegant branches with white and green patchy bark, making it a beautiful addition to any garden. This evergreen tree produces small flowers in late winter, adding extra visual interest to your garden.
Happy in both dry and wetter conditions, the Cider Gum is an excellent choice for drier regions of the UK, as well as a strong windbreak in coastal or exposed areas. If you are growing it in a container, it can reach 3-4m (10-13ft), and it thrives in well-drained soils. For extra-large leaves, prune the stems every couple of years in early spring to encourage multiple stems and bigger foliage.
Arriving as an established 3-litre container tree, your Eucalyptus gunnii can be planted directly or kept in a greenhouse over winter with proper frost protection.
