Mangetout pea ‘Snow Green’ produces a heavy crop of long stringless pods that are equally delicious steamed or simply eaten fresh from the plant. This top-quality variety has good tolerance to hot weather.
Sow outdoors
Sow in a flat bottomed trench 5cm (2in) deep, 20cm (8in) wide. Water the trench and sow seeds 7.5cm (3in) apart. Carefully backfill the trench and firm lightly. Keep soil moist at all times. Allow 60cm (24in) between rows.
Grow on
Support plants as they grow with netting and sticks.
Aftercare
Keep well watered, especially in dry spells. Use netting to protect pea crops from bird or moth damage.
